PM Modi Hails Successful Launch of India’s First Private Orbital Rocket Vikram-1
Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh), Jul 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the successful launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital rocket, calling it a landmark achievement that reflects the country’s growing self-reliance in the space sector. Following the successful launch of Mission Aagaman, Modi spoke over the phone with Skyroot Aerospace CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana and co-founder Naga Bharath Daka, congratulating them and the entire team on the historic accomplishment. The two founders were present at the ISRO Mission Control Centre at Sriharikota during the launch. The Prime Minister extended his “heartiest congratulations” and expressed confidence that the success of Mission Aagaman would pave the way for many more milestones in India’s space journey. Describing the mission as a testament to the country’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Modi said the successful launch demonstrated India’s growing capability to develop advanced space technologies independently. During the conversation, Chandana informed the Prime Minister that Vikram-1 had been completely designed and manufactured in India. He also told Modi that the postcard carrying the message “Vande Mataram”, sent by the Prime Minister aboard the rocket, had successfully reached a 450-km low Earth orbit. “Your card has successfully reached orbit. Vande Mataram is in orbit,” Chandana told the Prime Minister.
