JAMMU: Yuva Rajput Sabha-J&K (YRS) held an important press conference regarding its upcoming agitation demanding the rollback of the UGC-related decision/policy and raising its voice for equality and fairness on the issue of reservation.
The press conference was initiated by Vishal Singh, Chief Spokesperson, YRS, who welcomed the members of the media and gave an introductory briefing about the purpose of the press conference. He explained the major agenda of the Sabha and outlined the upcoming programme and roadmap of the UGC Rollback Agitation to be undertaken by YRS.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Singh Vicky, Former President, YRS, elaborated on the complete roadmap of the agitation. He announced that the Yuva Rajput Sabha-J&K will begin its agitation from Lakhanpur, Kathua, in the early morning of September 10 (Thursday) from Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji Statue and March towards Jammu and Finishes this Padalmarch rally at Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on 14th of September . He said the Sabha will raise its voice for the rollback of the UGC decision and for greater equality and fairness in the reservation system.
Vikram Singh Vicky appealed to people to come forward and support the peaceful democratic agitation. He said:
“If we can speak about One Nation, One Leader, One Constitution, then why can’t we speak about One Nation, One Law and equality in reservation?”»
He emphasized that the objective of the agitation is to raise a strong and democratic voice for equality and justice and to ensure that the concerns of all sections of society are heard.
Former President Rajan Singh Happy also expressed his views during the press conference. He alleged that reservation is increasingly being used as a political issue and that this is creating divisions and resentment among different sections of society. He said that while governments speak about equality and development, the situation on the ground remains different.
Rajan Singh Happy stated that if India is to become a truly developed nation, all castes and sections of society must be taken forward together, without creating unnecessary divisions among people. He urged the government to address the concerns of all communities through a fair, transparent and inclusive approach.
YRS reiterated that the upcoming agitation will be conducted through peaceful and democratic means. The Sabha appealed to the public, particularly youth and members of different communities, to participate and raise their voice for equality, justice and a fair system.
The Sabha further stated that its agitation beginning from Lakhanpur on September 10 will mark the beginning of its broader campaign on the UGC rollback and reservation-related concerns.
Several members of the Sabha were present at the press conference, including Balkar Singh Tinu, Sumit Singh, Bharat Singh, Rakesh Singh, Danish Singh, Arya Singh, Anil Singh, along with other dedicated members and supporters.
All the members collectively appealed to the people of Jammu to rise above politics and caste-based differences and come together on a common platform to uphold the principles of equality, unity, and justice. They urged the people to stand united and fight for equal rights and opportunities for everyone, irrespective of caste, community, or political affiliation.
The Sabha emphasized that unity and equality are the foundation of a strong and progressive society, and called upon the people of Jammu to join hands and raise their voice together for a just and equal society.
