Summer Vacation Extended Till July 26 for All Schools Across J&K; Classes to Resume on July 27
JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday extended the summer vacation for all Government and recognised private schools across the Union Territory till July 26, with classes set to resume on Monday, July 27, 2026. Announcing the decision, Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said the extension has been made keeping in view the safety and well-being of students, teachers and their families. "Keeping the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and their families as our foremost priority, the summer vacation for all Government and recognised private schools in the Kashmir Division and Winter Zones of Jammu Division is hereby extended up to 26th July, 2026," the Minister said. She further clarified that the order shall also apply to all schools in the Summer Zones of Jammu Division, making the extension applicable across the Union Territory. Accordingly, all Government and recognised private schools across Jammu and Kashmir will reopen on Monday, July 27, 2026. The Minister appealed to the public to remain cautious and strictly follow the advisories issued by the concerned authorities. "I request everyone to stay safe, remain vigilant, and follow the advisories issued by the concerned authorities. Wishing everyone good health and safety," she added.
