Srinagar, October 27: Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD) today observed Vigilance Awareness Week at IMPARD, Main Campus, M A Road, Srinagar.

Director General IMPARD, Saurabh Bhagat, administered Integrity Pledge to officers of IMPARD and all those officers and officials   deputed by different departments for different short and long duration training courses in the campus.

The focus area of the Integrity Pledge ceremony was to bring greater awareness on complaints under Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) and Special Clearance Campaign for clearing all outstanding vigilance matters. The pledge was taken as formally prescribed by the Central Vigilance Commission.

Director General asked the concerned to ensure that two posters each, as prescribed by Central Vigilance Commission, would be displayed at IMPARD Srinagar and IMPARD Jammu announcing to the public at large that they should lodge a complaint under PIDPI  if they find any corruption being practiced.

The spirit behind the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week at IMPARD was to sensitize the officers against the menace of corruption; and that the fight against corruption was a collective effort involving everyone.

Meanwhile, Joint Director, Priyanika Bhat, administered Integrity Pledge to officers of IMPARD at its Regional Centre, Jammu.

Pertinently, the Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 is being organised by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) from 26 October to 01 November 2021 during which the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls, which is held on October 31. The week-long celebration aims to promote integrity, transparency and accountability amongst public servants and create awareness about the existence, causes and gravity of corruption and the threat posed by it to society as a whole.
