New Delhi, Aug 11: NDA MPs on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the national flag and slogans of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” as he arrived for the ruling coalition’s weekly parliamentary party meeting at the Parliament House complex.
The meeting, titled ‘Mangal Milan’, was attended by Union ministers, NDA leaders and MPs from various constituent parties.
As Modi entered the GMC Balayogi Auditorium at the Parliament Library, ministers and MPs waved the Tricolour and raised patriotic slogans in his welcome.
BJP president Nitin Nabin and senior Union ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and S Jaishankar were among those present.
Several ministers from NDA allies also attended the meeting, including HD Kumaraswamy of the JD(S), Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu of the TDP, Ramdas Athawale, Praful Patel and Upendra Kushwaha, among others.
The NDA parliamentary party meeting is held every Tuesday when Parliament is in session.
The Monsoon Session, which began on July 20, is scheduled to conclude on August 13. The session has been marked by repeated disruptions, with opposition parties staging protests over several issues.
The opposition initially raised the issues of the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities involving donations to the Ram temple in Ayodhya. It later demanded a discussion on police action against students protesting over the NEET issue and sought statements from Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Despite the disruptions, Parliament has passed several Bills during the session, including the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
