Srinagar, September 13: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Srinagar District Police Headquarters has transferred 15 police officers, including Inspectors and Police Sub-Inspectors, with immediate effect, officials said on Sunday.
The transfers were ordered “in the interest of administration” under Order No. 1178 of 2026, dated September 12. Several officers have been assigned as Station House Officers (SHOs) at different police stations across the district.
According to the order, Inspector Gowhar Hussain has been posted as SHO of Police Station Harwan, while Inspector Athar Parvaiz will take charge as SHO of Police Station Parimpora.
Inspector Gowhar Ali Ganai has been posted as SHO of Police Station M.R. Gunj, while Inspector Bilal Ahmad Khanday will serve as SHO of Police Station Batmaloo.
The order further stated that Inspector Rabinder Singh has been posted as SHO of Police Station Rainawari and Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad as SHO of Police Station Shaheed Gunj.
Inspector Tanveer Ahmad Dar has been posted as SHO of Police Station Nigeen, while PSI Suhail Anees Khan has been assigned as SHO of Police Station Ahmad Nagar.
Meanwhile, Inspector Naseer Ahmad Malik has been posted as SHO of Police Station Sangam.
Several officers have been transferred to the District Police Lines (DPL), Srinagar, including Inspectors Taseer Hamid, Sabzar Ahmad, Wasim Jehangir, Showkat Hussain and PSI Zaheer Nissar Naseer.
Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir has been posted as In-Charge of the District Special Branch (DSB), Srinagar.
The order also directed three Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) from the 2024 batch, who were serving as independent SHOs at Police Stations Shaheed Gunj, Rainawari and Ahmad Nagar, to report to DPL Srinagar to complete the remaining components of their prescribed practical training programme.
All transferred officers have been relieved to join their new places of posting with effect from September 13, 2026, the order stated.
