POONCH, Aug 16: Security forces on Saturday busted a suspected terror hideout in the Draba area of Surankote sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, recovering a cache of explosives and ammunition.
Officials said a joint operation was launched by 16 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG Bufliaz and 38 Battalion CRPF in Draba following specific intelligence inputs.
During the operation, the forces recovered six IEDs, including one gamla-type IED, one gool-type IED and four small IEDs. A Motorola wireless set and seven AK-47 rounds were also recovered from the hideout.
The operation prevented a possible major incident, officials said.
Search operations in the area are continuing, and further details are awaited.
