Justice Sanjeev Kumar inaugurates advocates’ clerks room at HC
JAMMU: In a significant step towards strengthening the infrastructural facilities at the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and acknowledging the dedication and crucial support extended by the Advocates' Clerks to the legal fraternity in the day to day functioning of the Courts, Chief Justice (Acting), Justice Sanjeev Kumar, on Friday inaugurated a newly created Advocates' Clerks Room at the High Court Complex, Janipur, Jammu.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Mohd. Akram Chowdhary, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri and Justice Sanjay Parihar.
Besides M.K. Sharma, Registrar General, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, who is also holding the additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice and other Officers of the Registry, the event was attended by Nirmal Kotwal, President, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu and senior members of the Bar Association. The representatives of the Advocates' Clerk Association, J&K High Court, including its President, Mohinder Singh Nag, along with his office bearers, were also present.
On the occasion, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, expressed his satisfaction over the new facility exclusively meant for the Advocates' Clerks. He also emphasized the need for their digital literacy, more particularly, owing to their active involvement in e-filing of petitions. He also issued directions for formulation of comprehensive module for imparting training to the Advocates' Clerks in all aspects of court proceedings.
On behalf of the Advocates' Clerk Association, J&K High Court, Mohinder Singh Nag, President of the Association, conveyed sincere appreciation to the Chief Justice, the companion Judges and the President of the Bar Association for fulfilling the long-pending demand of the Advocates' Clerks through the establishment of the dedicated Advocates' Clerks Room.
