NAGOYA, Sept 25: India’s men’s and women’s kabaddi teams advanced to the Asian Games finals on Friday after securing convincing victories in their respective semifinal matches.
The Indian women’s team defeated Nepal 48-24 to book its place in the final, while the men’s team followed with a commanding 66-28 win over Thailand in the last-four stage.
The victories kept both Indian teams’ unbeaten records intact in the ongoing Asian Games.
Both sides are now one win away from successfully defending their respective Asian Games gold medals.
India’s strong performances in the semifinals have set up final appearances for both teams as they continue their campaign for gold.
