SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, today informed the Legislative Assembly that the PHC building at Devar Lolab, Kupwara was approved under the district sector in 2020-21 through J&K Housing Board as executing agency. She said the project was approved at Rs 199 lakh and allotted at Rs 141 lakh with a completion period of three financial years.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Motion moved by MLA Qaysar Jamshaid Lone regarding prolonged delay in completion of PHC building at Diver Lolab.
The Minister stated that, owing to the considerable time elapsed since preparation of the original Detailed Project Report (DPR) and the subsequent revision in construction costs, the J&K Housing Board has submitted a revised DPR amounting ₹206.64 lakh for taking up the balance works of the NT-PHC Devar Lolab above the ground floor.
Sakeena Itoo said that the revised DPR is presently under scrutiny by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kupwara to ensure that all essential components are incorporated and the building becomes fully functional upon completion.
The government has also stated that the department has already earmarked ₹40 lakh under the UT Capex Budget 2026-27 for the project and the funds will be utilised for execution of the balance works after finalization and approval of the revised DPR.
The Minister emphasized that the department is committed to complete the balance work in a time-bound manner.
