Four Officials Suspended In Samba Over Poor Performance In Digital Crop Survey

SAMBA, Sept 11: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan has suspended four officials for alleged negligence and failure to meet prescribed targets in the ongoing digital crop survey in the district.

Those suspended include Agriculture Department AEAs Jatinder Kumar and Sunil Khajuria, along with Rural Development Department Panchayat Secretaries Surinder Singh and Vishal Rasgotra.

The action was taken following a review of the progress of the digital crop survey, which found that the officials had failed to achieve the targets assigned to them.

The digital survey of agricultural land and crops is being conducted across Jammu and Kashmir to capture crop and land-use details through digital means. In Samba, teams from various departments have been deployed for the exercise.

The suspension orders came into effect immediately, with the concerned departments and higher authorities informed about the action.

The administration has reiterated the need for timely completion of the survey and adherence to the targets fixed for the exercise.
