NAGPUR, Aug 15: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday urged citizens to strengthen India’s independence by making the country prosperous, secure and happy, saying this would enable it to make a meaningful contribution to the world and achieve the goal of becoming a “Vishwaguru”.
Addressing a gathering at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur after hoisting the Tricolour on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Bhagwat said several people and forces were working against India’s goal of emerging as a global leader.
He called upon citizens to strengthen the nation without compromising on its core values and principles, while collectively addressing challenges facing the country.
Bhagwat also stressed that differences in individual views should not be seen as a threat to national unity, saying diversity of opinions ultimately reflects the country’s underlying unity.
He urged people to work together to build a strong, prosperous and secure India and help the country emerge as a guiding force for the world.
