50 JKAS Officers Named Liaison Officers For J&K’s First International Film Festival

JAMMU, Aug 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 50 JKAS and Junior Scale JKAS officers as liaison officers for the first International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10, 2026.

The appointments were made through Government Order No. 1422-JK(GAD) of 2026 issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on Friday.

The appointed officers will coordinate with and assist visiting dignitaries and delegates during the festival. They have been directed to report to the Director, Information, J&K, Srinagar, on August 31 for a briefing on their duties.

The officers have been drawn from various departments and field establishments, including Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Public Works (R&B), Jal Shakti, Higher Education, Tribal Affairs, Social Welfare, State Taxes, Handicrafts, Sports Council and Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

Among those appointed are Mohammad Rafeeg Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Hakak, Bashir Ahmad Padder, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Mirza Shahid Ali Beigh, Aijaz Ahmad Shigon, Hakim Riyaz-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Ahmad Maqdoomi and Sakhi Mohammad Khan.

Several Junior Scale JKAS officers, including BDOs, STOs, Deputy Registrars, Functional Managers and other administrative officers, have also been assigned liaison duties.

The move is part of the administration’s preparations to ensure smooth coordination, movement and assistance for delegates and dignitaries attending the inaugural international film festival in J&K.
