Kargil: In Ladakh, the District Health Society organized a ground-breaking psychiatry camp at AAM Choskore, aimed at extending essential healthcare services to the remotest corners of the region. Under the umbrella of the District Mental Health Program (DMHP), the camp witnessed the dedicated efforts of Dr. Fatima Nissa, Nodal Officer of the program, and Neuropsychiatrist Dr. Murtaza Ali.
The event saw a comprehensive examination of patients, with a focus on providing free, quality psychotropic medicines to those in need.
Additionally, to foster greater understanding and awareness, a Mental Health Awareness Program was also organized at the Government Higher Secondary School Choskore.
Dr Fatima Nissa delivered an insightful overview of mental health and its associated challenges, shedding light on crucial issues affecting the community.
Dr. Murtaza Ali, Neuropsychiatrist at the District Mental Health Program in Kargil, provided a detailed presentation on childhood disorders and substance abuse, aiming to empower attendees with knowledge and resources to tackle these issues effectively.
Dr Fatima while interacting with the media said that the camp and awareness program stands as a testament to the commitment of healthcare professionals to address mental health needs in underserved areas, fostering resilience and well-being within the community.
