Kathua; 24 NOV : As a part of public outreach programme, “THANA DIWAS” an initiative of Government of J&K UT was organised by the Kathua Police at Town Hall Hiranagar in the jurisdictional area of PS Hiranagar.
The function was chaired by SSP Kathua Sh. R C Kotwal JKPS accompanied by Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Suresh Kumar Chib JKPS alongwith other supervisory officers including SDPO Border Sh. Pankaj Soodan JKPS, DySP Operation Kathua Sh. Tilak Raj Bhardwaj, SHO P/S Hiranagar Insp. Sunil Kumar and other official/officers of District Kathua were also graced the occasion which was held at Town Hall Hiranagar. The Thana Diwas programme witnessed by large participants of the adjoining areas of P/S Hiranagar including DDC Hiranagar Sh. Abhinandan Sharma, BDC Hiranagar Sh. Ram Lal Kalia, Chairman Municipal Committee Hiranagar Advocate Vijay Sharma, Civil Society Members & various other respectable persons including PRI’s, Senior Citizens, Numberdar, Chowkidar etc of the areas. During the programme participants highlighted various issues of public importance and they were patiently heard by SSP Kathua and were later on assured that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority level.
While speaking on the occassion SSP Kathua conveyed that “THANA DIWAS is an initiative started by Govt. of J&K UT to bridge gap between Police and Public and also to listen & redress the grievances of common masses. At last SSP Kathua further urged that the participants must cooperate with Police and Administration in maintaining Law & Order in their area of responsibilty as well as in identifying Anti-National & Anti Social Elements like Drugs Peddling, Bovine Smuggling, Trade of Illicit Liquor etc.
While urging for better policing, the SSP Kathua exhorted officers to dispose of public grievances at grassroots level on priority and patiently.
