Samba Jul 23 :- The Special Operation Group (SOG) of the police, in association with the CRPF, has conducted a special search operation in Samba and Kathua. Rivers and drains of both the districts are being explored. Patrolling is being done in these areas for 24 hours. For this, special training is being given to the soldiers. It is being told that Lashkar terrorist Faizal Munir, who was caught in the Khatikan pond of Jammu, told during interrogation that he has a big network in Samba and Kathua.

The OG workers and terrorists of the sleeper cell involved recover the explosives coming from Pakistan and transport them to Kashmir. Munir has also given the names of two to three terrorists. SOG has run a big operation in search of them. However, two terrorists from Samba and Kathua, Mian Suhail and Habib, were arrested along with Munir.

Sources say that a condensed search operation is being conducted by SOG on the route of the river, drain and forests. There are inputs that there is a constant conspiracy to send weapons through drones from across the border. There are some routes from where weapons are still coming, while terrorists are also trying to infiltrate from some routes. These terrorists can target the convoys, langars and their places of stay near the Samba and Kathua highways. So their infiltration has to be monitored.

Both the districts are favorable for infiltration

Talking about the last five years, most of the Pakistani terrorists who have reached Kashmir have reached Kashmir only after infiltrating from the Samba and Kathua borders. Even all the fidayeen attacks in Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli, Udhampur, Sunjwan, Samba, Kathua in Jammu have been done by infiltrating terrorists from these places. NIA has also told the Union Home Ministry in its investigation that terrorists infiltrate from Samba and Kathua border and action is required on this.(AGENCIES)
